The string is set in the resource fork. If you are willing to use ResEdit,
you can change that string as follows:
1) Make a backup of HyperCard in case you make an error in using ResEdit.
2) With ResEdit, open HyperCard (the application, not the Home Stack).
3) Of the many icons you see, double-click the "STR#" icon to open up the
main collection of strings.
4) Open string ID 128. This should be the first one, and it should be
called "Misc" (unless that name was changed in the Japanese version).
5) Edit string #19, which for you presumably is now:
find string "^0"
Change this to: find "^0"
6) Save the changes, quit ResEdit, then verify your new and improved version
of HyperCard works as you want it to.
